The College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln celebrates the start of the fall semester and kicks off the fifth anniversary of Howard L. Hawks Hall with the Back to School Bash on Friday, August 26, 3-4:30 p.m. Sponsored by Sandhills Global, the in-person event provides the chance for students, faculty, staff, alumni and business partners to connect in the Henrickson Family Atrium.
With UNL Dairy Store ice cream and giveaways from the many departments and areas at Nebraska Business, the event creates a welcoming and festive atmosphere during the first week of school. Students can learn more about academic and career resources and find out about more than 25 business student organizations.

For alumni like Angelica Morrow, ’18, assistant marketing and digital media director at Five Points Bank, the Bash served as a catalyst for finding her college career.
“At the Back to School Bash, I met many students, faculty and staff who I talked with throughout my college career. Because they knew about my involvement at the college, I was asked to speak on stage during the opening of Hawks Hall and featured in a story. That led to meeting an alum who offered me a job before I even graduated,” she said. “Be sure to attend the Bash and make some new connections.”
Sponsoring the Back to School Bash for the eighth year, Sandhills Global hosts a booth at the event where students can learn more about the information processing company headquartered in Lincoln. A proud alum of the college, Nancy Paasch, ’06, chief administration officer at Sandhills Global, looks forward to the annual event in Howard L. Hawks Hall.
“Sandhills Global is proud to partner with the College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on many events and initiatives, including the Back to School Bash. Our future business leaders will have valuable roles in the advancement of our community, and Sandhills appreciates the opportunity to build relationships with students and foster the business program's success,” she said.
