Leadership Opportunities

Global Leadership and the Culture Map (BSAD 420)
Study global business strategies and cultural contexts in theory and practice. Examine competitive strategies, international expansions and venture launches.
Global Issues (BSAD 320)
Analyze complex global issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Investigate how change and innovation transform human endeavors in technology, business, politics, laws, culture and arts.
International Finance (ECON 422)
Explore the international monetary system and markets, including exchange rates, international payments, inflation, unemployment, national income and interest rates in an open economy.
Global Sourcing and Distribution (SCMA 439)
Expand strategies, concepts and tools in supply chain management on a global scale as you examine supply chains in the context of international trade.
International Marketing (MRKT 453)
Acquire skills in marketing products and services internationally, considering institutions, culture, development stage, geography, research, and pricing for successful operations abroad.

In the International Business (IB) Select Program, you’ll find unique study abroad opportunities, professional mentorships and business development projects with a cohort of students.

Gain a deeper knowledge of a region or culture through a Nebraska Business Abroad experience.

Practice for Language Proficiency
Attend free language lunches hosted in the Diversity & Inclusion Gathering Space (DIGS). As an IB major, you’ll earn at least eight credit hours of foreign language.

Complete an International Internship
Gain real-world experience through an internationally focused internship or practicum in the U.S. or abroad.

Featured Faculty
Rob Simon, Associate Professor of Practice in Marketing
Among other marketing and retail courses, Rob Simon teaches a Special Topics class to create solutions for Union Pacific and Ameritas. Each summer, he teaches in Italy as part of a Nebraska Business Abroad program, CIMBA. Simon served as the advisor for the AMA Collegiate Chapter and was recognized as Faculty Advisor of the Year. He was also CEO of a retail apparel company, owner of a surplus inventory company and in e-commerce management.
